Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Gobeya collects, why we collect it, and how it's handled. This page is a starting draft for our launch and should be reviewed by a qualified professional before being treated as a final policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number and password (stored as a hash, never in plain text).
• Order information: delivery address, items purchased, order value and order status.
• Payment information: handled entirely by Paystack. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed, plus limited metadata (such as a masked card number); we never receive or store your full card details.
• Usage information: pages viewed, products searched for, items added to your cart or wishlist, and similar activity used to personalise recommendations such as New Arrivals and product suggestions.

2. How we use your information

• To process and deliver your orders.
• To send transactional emails - order confirmation, shipping updates, delivery confirmation, password resets and refund notifications.
• To provide customer support when you contact us.
• To personalise your experience, such as product recommendations.
• To detect and prevent fraud and abuse of the Platform.

3. Who we share information with

We share the minimum information necessary with service providers who help us run Gobeya, including Paystack (payment processing), our email delivery provider (transactional emails), and our hosting and storage providers. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data retention

We retain account and order information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet tax, accounting and legal obligations.

5. Your rights

You can review and update your personal information at any time from your account settings. You may request that we delete your account or export your data by contacting Support.
